Volume and side button repair

Stuck, rattling, or needing three presses to register one. Call with your make and model and we will give you a price — or walk in and we will look at it while you wait.

What we actually do

Side buttons are a flex cable and a small mechanical switch. They wear, and they take the worst of a drop because they sit on the edge of the phone.

A button that has stopped working after a fall is often the bracket behind it rather than the switch — different part, different job.

Most phones can do the important things without the buttons while you wait — screenshots, volume, even power, through the accessibility settings. Ask us and we will show you.

Signs it is the volume and side buttons

  • The button does nothing
  • It needs several presses
  • It feels stuck or spongy
  • It rattles when you shake the phone
  • Volume changes on its own
  • It stopped after a drop

Worth fixing, or not?

Usually yes, and it is a contained repair. Worth checking whether the fault is the button or the bracket first, because that changes the job.

What it costs

Prices vary from phone to phone, and by model. Posting one number here would get it wrong for most people reading it.

So just ask. One call with your make and model and you have your price.

Phones we work on

iPhone, Samsung, Motorola, Google Pixel, LG, TCL, Nokia and more. Not sure yours is on the list? Call and ask — we see plenty that aren't.

Questions people ask

Can I use my phone while a button is broken?

Usually, yes. Most phones can do the important things without the buttons — screenshots, volume, even power — through the accessibility settings, and we will show you how.

Can a button that stopped working after a drop be fixed?

Usually, yes. After a fall it is often the bracket behind the button rather than the switch — a different part and a different job — so that is worth checking first.

How much does a button repair cost?

It depends on the make and model, so we price your phone rather than posting one number. Call (414) 763-6727 or ask at the counter — the quote is free.

Will you start work before I agree to the price?

No. You hear the price first and say yes or no, and we don't start until you say yes.

Can you fix my phone the same day?

Most repairs are. It depends on your model, what is actually wrong with it, and whether we have the part for your phone. Call with your make and model and we will tell you where yours lands.

Is my information safe while you have my phone?

We may ask for your passcode so we can test the phone after the repair, and we do not open your photos, your messages or your accounts — we only check that the repair works. We do not back your phone up, so make a backup first if you can.

Do repairs come with a warranty?

The parts we fit carry the limited warranty offered by the manufacturer of that part, on that manufacturer's terms. Our Refund & Service Policy explains how a claim works.
