Battery replacement

Dying by lunchtime, shutting off with charge left on the meter, or a back panel that no longer sits flush. Call with your make and model and we will give you a price — or walk in and we will look at it while you wait.

What we actually do

A battery is a consumable. It holds less every cycle, and past a certain point the phone starts guessing at what is left — which is why a phone can read 40% and die at a red light.

We check whether the battery is actually the fault before we sell you one. A charge port that will not deliver current looks identical from the outside.

A swollen phone battery bulging inside an opened chassis, lifting the back panel away.

If the back is lifting or the screen is bowing, stop charging it and bring it in. A swollen cell is under pressure and it does not get better on its own.

Signs it is the battery

  • Flat by early afternoon on normal use
  • Shuts off suddenly with charge showing
  • Only works while plugged in
  • The back panel or screen is lifting
  • Warm to the touch when idle
  • Charge level jumps around

Worth fixing, or not?

Almost always yes, and it is one of the cheaper ways to keep a phone another year or two. The exception is a phone that is old enough for the battery to be the third thing to go.

What it costs

Prices vary from phone to phone, and by model. Posting one number here would get it wrong for most people reading it.

So just ask. One call with your make and model and you have your price.

Phones we work on

iPhone, Samsung, Motorola, Google Pixel, LG, TCL, Nokia and more. Not sure yours is on the list? Call and ask — we see plenty that aren't.

Questions people ask

How do I know my phone needs a new battery?

The usual signs are a phone that is flat by early afternoon on normal use, shuts off with charge showing, or only works while plugged in. We check whether the battery is actually the fault before we sell you one.

What should I do if the battery is swollen?

Stop charging it and bring it in. A swollen cell is under pressure and it does not get better on its own.

How much does a battery replacement cost?

It depends on the make and model, so we price your phone rather than posting one number. Call (414) 763-6727 or ask at the counter — the quote is free.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in whenever we are open — Monday to Saturday 10am–7pm, Sunday 12pm–5pm — and we look at it while you wait.

Can you fix my phone the same day?

Most repairs are. It depends on your model, what is actually wrong with it, and whether we have the part for your phone. Call with your make and model and we will tell you where yours lands.

Is my information safe while you have my phone?

We may ask for your passcode so we can test the phone after the repair, and we do not open your photos, your messages or your accounts — we only check that the repair works. We do not back your phone up, so make a backup first if you can.

Will the repair erase what is on my phone?

A screen, battery or charge port repair does not normally erase anything. Make a backup first if you can — it is good practice before any repair.

Do repairs come with a warranty?

The parts we fit carry the limited warranty offered by the manufacturer of that part, on that manufacturer's terms. Our Refund & Service Policy explains how a claim works.
